Aside from creating eye-catching ambient vibes around your home or business, Sunset lamps are a quick, easy, and fun way to add a new look to your photo and video shoots - without changing anything else in the scene. They are known for their smaller size, portability, and ease of use. You can truly get that filtered look, in real life.
In this quick blog post we will share a few different ideas for you to get started using these colorful RGB lamps, and on your way to getting some fresh content! 👇

Location 📍

Whether your subject is a person or object, test pointing your sunset light from multiple directions to see which lighting is best for the look you’re trying to achieve. Try projecting from above, in-front of, behind, left, right - you get it! Typically you want the subject to be your focus, so the sunset light itself will not be in the frame. Test this as well though! The fun part is - there aren’t really any rules, the idea is to use your creativity!

Proximity ↕️

One of the coolest ways to use a sunset lamp is by changing the amount of distance is between your subject, and the projection light. The closer the light is to the subject, the richer the color and the more condensed the sphere of light will be. When you use them from farther away it will cover much more area and give the light color a less saturated look - kind of like turning the filter down on your phone.

Colors 🌈

Our sunset lamps come with a wide array of color options. Set up a shot that you like, and then try getting the same content but with the light set to different colors. You can also try adjusting the brightness of the lamp to get your desired outcome. With a simple change of the sunset projection lamp color it will change the whole mood of your photo setting.

Quantity 🔢

You know that popular saying "less is more"? It’s not always true with LED lights. You will definitely want to try using multiple sunset lights that are projecting with different depths, angles, and colors. This method can also be very helpful when creating a unique backdrop for your livestreams, YouTube videos, and vlogs.

Of course, this is just the beginning of what you can create using our mood lights, but hopefully it gave you a good starting point.
